Tae Kwon Do

Chase finished up his swim lessons a couple weeks ago. He really enjoyed the class setting and learning a new skill so we decided to try something different for the cold months. Last week he started a Tumble and Tae Kwon Do class. He LOVES it!

For the beginners they work on their motor skills and discipline with tumbling.

Leah wanted to take the class as well but I didn't sign them up soon enough so there was not enough room for her this time around. She was watching intently and can't wait for her turn....

After working on their tumbling skills they work on their combat skills.

He has some good "ups"! He seems very interested in continuing the Tae Kwon Do so we will see where this goes.

Mega Gym

Several weeks ago I received a lovely letter in the mail from the Oakland county circuit court to appear for jury selection last Thursday. Thanks to a faxed letter to the judge (and an understanding judge) I was excused from jury selection. This was excellent news since on Thursday some friends were planning a playdate to Mega Gym and I knew the kids would LOVE going.

I decided to share my excused jury duty story with you to preface the amount of obstacles we faced to get to the gym playdate. First potential jury duty then on the way to the gym my drivers side rear tire blew. Luckily I was able to get to a parking lot and Kevin was able to make it there pretty quickly and throw on my spare tire so we could still make the playdate! Now for those of you thinking it, I could change my own tire it would have just taken me 10 times the amount of time it took Kevin to do it. With it all said and done, I wish I had pictures for you but in the heat of the moment taking pictures was the last thing on my mind.

With my spare tire on we headed to the gym for some playtime!

There was a foam pit that I could not get Chase out of. He took to doing "cannon balls"...

Leah tried out her gymnastics skills...

With our "bumps in the road" we had only 30 minutes to play but we are planning on going back next week for their open gym time.

Happy Halloween

I know I am a little behind but as always life has been a little busy at the McMahan's. Halloween was spread out over a couple different events. First we had to dig into the pumpkins that Chase had picked out at the pumpkin patch.

Future note to self: Small pumpkins are difficult to carve. It took me a LONG time to cut the tops off and thank goodness Kevin got home to carve the faces.

Sorry I didn't get any pictures of the faces with the kids. I think they lost interest by the end. On the Saturday before Halloween downtown Farmington hosted their Trick or Treat event where all the businesses hand out candy. Chase had choices of being Batman, Spiderman, or a Spy for Halloween. However when I was digging through boxes for a costume for Leah, Chase snagged up his police costume and wouldn't change his mind. Leah decided she wanted to be a puppy.

Once we got downtown we met up with our good friends and then headed around to collect some goodies.

Chase had school on the 31st so the kids got to wear their costumes to school for a fun day.

Each kids got to show off their costume.

Chase was missing the gun and handcuff accessories from his costume for the school party, I figured that might be frowned upon at school. After an exciting day at school and good amount of sugar, for halloween night we headed over to our friends house for a little halloween dinner and trick or treating fun.

A McMahan family photo op....

The kids had so much fun gathering candy and running around with their friends.

Harrison was so cute you could almost eat him up!

We all had a wonderful Halloween and a great time with friends! Happy Halloween!
