Soccer Star

Chase started his first season of soccer with the YMCA at the beginning of March.  It was a good program to start in because it ran for four weeks with two games a week, so short and sweet.  Chase Loved playing!

Unfortunately March turned out to be a pretty chilly month so most of his games were cold.

Poor guy, we think he must have gotten bored and somehow knocked the goal down.  Although he did not score any goals during the season he did get some good kicks and managed to get his foot on the ball a few times.

More than anything he had a great time playing and is excited to get to play again. 

Meeting Connor

Congratulations to Ryan and Stephanie on the birth of their Son Connor Patrick McMahan.  He was born on February 15th and if you are more curious of details you can read all about them here.  We were very thankful for his timely appearance since we had already planned on being in Charlotte for my Dad’s birthday the following weekend, which made it much easier to pop up to Raleigh to meet Connor.  The Proud parents…

I can’t really blame her though because I couldn’t wait to get my hands on him either.

I very reluctantly gave him up so Kevin could have some snuggle time with his new nephew as well. 

Although it was a short visit with Ryan, Steph, and Connor we had a wonderful time hanging out and getting to meet our new nephew and cousin.  We can’t wait to see you guys again and Congratulations! 

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

I know this is really late but I wanted to say Happy St. Patrick’s Day from the McMahan Clan! 

The Leprechaun’s  paid a visit to our house and caused a little trouble but left a couple of pots of gold chocolate coins so we didn’t mind all that much!  Hope you all had a fun St. Patrick’s day!

New Playrooms

It has been a long time since I have taken the time to blog.  Sorry for my absence.  It has not been for a lack of life happening but for a lack of motivation on my part to put it all in writing.  I will start with our latest happenings and see how motivated I am to review a few of our recent exciting events. 

When we moved into our house we decided to use the third bedroom upstairs as a playroom for the kids.  It served well as a playroom but with out sweet baby girl expected to make her appearance in April we decided to switch things up a little and give her that room.  Luckily for us Chase and Leah both have a small room room attached to their bedrooms.  Overall they are neat and unique spaces. Each had linoleum flooring and when we moved the kids toys into each room we found them to be cold and extremely noisy from the downstairs with kids playing above. 

Our first step was to repaint the boring walls.  The kids had fun helping with this project.

This isn’t exactly how we left the walls but the kids had fun!  After painting was completed the rooms definitely looked much better but were still cold and noisy.  Since the two rooms back up to each other we decided to make them more fun by connecting them.  A few weekends later my parents ventured down with much needed supplies and ready to work. (Thanks Grandpa!!!) Kevin and my Dad worked hard and placed a kid sized door connecting the two rooms and then Kevin finished off the project laying padding and carpet in each room.  Here is a look from Chase’s room….

The kids LOVE their new spaces and have enjoyed sneaking into each other’s rooms via their secret door.  Now their rooms are super fun, warm, and much more quiet from below!  Thank you Kevin and Grandpa for all your hard work!
