Time for a check up, Time for a check up....
If you have children than after reading that first line you are now singing the theme song to Doc McStuffins. Leah turned 4 last Saturday and for her birthday she wanted a Doc McStuffins themed birthday party. For those of you who don't know, two weeks ago I started a new job at our local hospital which means lots of orientation and full time work until they can get me trained for my position. Anyway long story sort, this momma needed an easy out of my usual birthday blasts. Luckily Leah was super excited about having her birthday at the local YMCA!
We gathered in the party room where the rules were explained to the kids and then they were released to the pool for an hour of fun in the water.
Leah loved getting to swim with all her friends and Mommy and Daddy! After some fun pool time we headed back to the party room for some pizza and birthday celebration.
The birthday girl had requested balloons, so she got balloons...
After pizza it was cake time...
For some reason Leah decided to be shy about blowing out her candles so Mommy and Daddy helped her...
It looks like Chase was helping in the background too. Leah was super excited to bring cake to each of her friends.
She has such a helpful heart that getting to help pass out cake was one of her highlights of her party. After cake she enjoyed opening some presents from her friends.
Grammie and Pawpaw got Leah her new favorite doll who she named Leah. Grammie did a good job of finding a doll that does favor Leah. Speaking of Grammie and Papaw, they came down just for the occasion but since I couldn't get my act together enough to remember to bring our camera, Grammie took all these pictures with her camera. Thank you!! She even captured one of sweet Henley...
Thank you everyone for celebrating Leah's birthday with us. We can't believe she is already 4 and such a big girl! Leah's highlights over the last several months include learning to swim without floaties, riding a bike without training wheels, starting 3 day a week preschool, starting dance lessons, learning how to be a big sister, and always being the first to want to help. We love you Leah, I think 4 is going to be a great year!!

Henley Five Months
Henley Faith
Our sweet little angel is 5 months old. Well she was 5 months about a week ago so I am playing a little catch up right now. Since her 4 month check up we started to introduce rice cereal into her diet. It took her about two weeks to learn to eat from a spoon and then another week for me to realize that she just didn't really care for the rice cereal. Since then we have added squash and sweet potatoes to her rice and she is now a food lover.
There is not a doctors visit associated with the 5 month mark but Henley decided to catch her first cold causing an impromptu visit to see a doctor. Our sweet girl had ear infections in both her ears. Three days later on her antibiotic she is back to her smiley self. We can only hope that we won't be doing that again for a long time. Since we visited the doctor I can report that her weight is 13.5 lbs. Before long she will be our little chunky monkey. Some of her favorites right now are swinging on the swing set with Chase and Leah, grabbing toys and playing with them, rolling around to get what she wants, watching the dogs, giving kisses (open mouth kisses), and drooling. She is still a "spitter" and unfortunately now with the introduction of foods, her spit up is a nice shade of orange. This sweet girl has the power with once smile to melt away any stress or anxiety. She contains pure JOY. We love you Henley!
