It is amazing how quickly time goes by. Sometimes a day or moment may seem slow but in a blink of an eye years are gone. Ten years to be precise! Kevin and I have been married for 10 years. I have to confess that it has been 10 blissful years. Now don't get me wrong we have had our moments, some ups and downs, two moves, and three kids. Through it all we have worked together and are closer to each other today because of everything life has thrown at us. To celebrate our 10 year anniversary we kissed our kids goodbye (thanks to the grandparents!) and boarded a plane to Ocho Rios, Jamaica!

Couples Tower Isle! Now I have to confess that when we arrived we were not all that impressed with our accommodations. This is the third all inclusive resort that we have stayed at but the other two were newly built where as Tower Isle was originally built in 1949. The resort has been fully renovated and the room was very comfortable and quite nice, just not quite the WOW factor we had walking into the places we had previously stayed. Once we got past that we began loving everything about this little resort. Here is our room....

Now I have to apologize, my goal on this trip was to relax and spend time with Kevin so keeping up with the camera and taking pictures was not my top priority. Also, someone early in the week told me that the pictures that the resort photographers were taking were reasonably priced and that you could get them on a CD. So I assumed at the end of the week I would have all these wonderful pictures of the two of us living it up. Well when I went to check prices to my surprise it was going to be around $300 for our pictures on a CD. So I decided that they could keep those pictures and we would have to make due with what we had. Bummer. Well here is what I have and I'll start with a little mini tour of our resort. Below on the bottom level you can see the veggie bar where we discovered some very yummy wraps and the top level is one of the bars and main eating areas.
Next is the main pool. Straight ahead of the pool is where the main buffet for breakfast/lunch was located. In the building to the left is the exercise room, game room, and the snack bar where there was lots of yummy junk food.
Below is one of the hot tubs and beyond the hot tub the roof tops you see is one of the resorts reservation restaurants called Bayside. It serves an asian cuisine and was very yummy. Funny story the night we had our reservations at Bayside we were just laying around our room relaxing watching the clock in our room and when it said it was time we headed over to the restaurant. When we got there we told them we were there for our 7:00 reservation and the lady looked at us like we were idiots and told us it was 7:45 and they were seating for 8:00. We proceeded to argue with her until Kevin looked at his watch and realized that our room clock must have been wrong. Luckily they accommodated us and dinner was delicious.
Pictured below is the au natural (a.k.a nude) island. They run a boat out to the island from 9-5pm every day. It has its own pool and bar. I must report that Kevin and I did not make it out to the island on this trip but did spot some white butts from a distance. It's like a train wreck, you can't help but look...
And here was my paradise, the beach where we spent most of our time. I brought with me one 600 page book to read thinking that it would be enough to last me for an entire week. Well I guess it has been a few years since I have had uninterrupted time to read because that one book took be two days to read.
Now each day we would get up around 8:30 am and head to a spinning class that they offered each morning at 9:00. After spinning we would eat breakfast and then get dressed and head to the beach. Kevin jumped right out to try his hand at wind surfing after he watched two guys fail at it miserably.
Even though it was really windy and the water was pretty rough, he showed those guys up! Later that evening at the piano bar we found out that he had his own fan club that was cheering him on from their balcony. The entertainment was really good at the resort and we enjoyed all the activities that they had set in place for the week. We hula hooped....
I was going for a few minutes so the entertainment guy went to get a drink for me while I kept going...
He took his dear sweet time. I enjoyed playing some volleyball and Kevin even played with me and was pretty good!
They also took us out on a boat to a little area to snorkel, which was fun. Also included was a catamaran cruise that left from a nearby port around 2:00 pm and brought you back in around sunset. We really enjoyed the open water and the sun coming down was beautiful. We had fun participating in all the evening activities. We did bamboo dancing, participated in a magic show, sang piano songs at the top of our lungs, danced at the disco, played casino games for fake money, and enjoyed the steel drum band.
Since we couldn't get professional pictures, Kevin got creative and made his own tripod...
I think it turned out pretty nice...
On mothers day we came back to our cleaned room with a sweet note and a towel heart.
We also got some champagne and cookies as an anniversary gift from the resort.
The week went by way too fast. We had a great time getting to spend 24/7 together without any distractions (Thanks again to the Grandparents, and Aunt Laura!). We met some really great people and had fun laughing at ourselves and others all week. It was some much needed time together, R&R, and break from reality. In the end we loved all that Couples Tower Isle offered, the food was very good, entertainment kept us entertained, and the "extras" that were included were good activities.
