Fun family time

When we lived in Michigan we got into a habit of jumping on our bikes and riding to different places just for fun.  The kids at those ages would be strapped into our bike trailer and would love to ride along with us!  Well times have changed and now both the big kids are pretty good 2 wheel bike riders so we thought we would give a family bike ride a shot.

We drove to Greenville and parked outside the Greenville zoo for two reasons: they have an amazing park outside the zoo and the Swamp Rabbit Trail runs right by there.  The tail runs along the Reedy river and with not too far of a ride from where we started you can find yourself in downtown Greenville at falls park.  Of course that is where we biked and stopped for a little picnic dinner.

The kids were super excited to check out the falls/river.

Well Leah was a little terrified to start but it didn't take her long to become her fearless self.

Here was our attempt at a picture with all three kids...

And that is Henley saying she doesn't want a picture.  When she doesn't want to do what you want her to she throws her arms up so she can slide out of your arms.

That was the best we could get before Chase started pulling too hard on Leah and she was terrified of being pulled in the water.

Don't know if you can make out the look of terror on her face.  It was so much fun riding bikes with the kids.  Our plan was to ride a little further and then when we passed back by falls park to stop at Spill the Beans, one of my favorite ice cream places.  Unfortunately  the skies were starting to get dark and the wind was picking up so we figured we needed to head back before the rain came.  Luckily we made it back and had some playtime on the park before the rain hit and then we drove to Spill the beans for a yummy treat.  I am looking forward to many more bike rides in our future!

And here is where it all begins...

Last week Chase had his first ever T-ball game.

We have a lot to learn about the game but I love how excited he is about playing.  He is all out and into getting dirty...

They keep the games moving pretty quickly switching teams on the field after 6 batters.

He is improving at connecting with the ball!  I love this next picture of him after is game in his uniform.  He looks just like his Uncle Nick (my brother).

Happy Birthday Henley!

April 11th our sweet Henley turned 1!  It is truly amazing how quick one year flew by.  She has taught us so much about what true Joy looks like.  She has a way of lighting up a room and putting a smile on just about anyone's face.

So what is Henley doing now you ask?  In time for her first birthday she is walking everywhere.  Her favorite foods/snacks are waffles, yogurt, tacos, spaghetti, cheese, cheerios, and banana's.  Overall she is a good eater.  She is down to one 2 hour nap a day and sleeps a good 13-14 hours at night.  She is into everything but loves to put a purse/bag on her arm and walk around with it.  She wants to be big like her brother and sister.

Chase and Leah love playing with Henley and have a way of making her giggle.  They like to run around the dinning room sneaking up behind Henley which makes her squeal and giggle.  It is such a precious sound.  For Henley's big day we had a "little" party for her.

It was a beautiful day and Henley loved all the attention from Grammie and Papaw, Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Laura, and Aunt Steph and Uncle Ryan.  I made for her her own personal smash cake that she didn't care much about...

We switched her to a cake pop and she seemed to be much happier with that.  I guess she just wanted what everyone else was having.  Silly girl!

She got to take a couple swings at her piƱata and was pretty good at it!

Now I thought she would LOVE her cake which she seemed to care less about and figured she wouldn't be into opening presents but that is what she LOVED doing.

She loved everything she opened and had so much fun!  Thank you to everyone who shared this day with us.  Henley's cousin Connor traveled all the way from Raleigh to celebrate with us...

Happy birthday to our sweet girl!

Rainy Days

April showers bring May flowers and we have had ALOT of April showers.  Luckily we have not been trapped indoors for weeks upon weeks, there has been breaks in the rain.  What do we do when it rains you ask? We have fun of course...

The big kids enjoyed some singing in the rain and stomping in puddles.

It's amazing how much fun a big box can be!  Henley loves playing with her brother and sister.  We hope that everyone is enjoying this spring as much as we are! Welcome warmer weather, even if it means some rainy days!
