Big News!

If there is one thing I have learned in my years on this planet is to never say never.  Several years ago Kevin changed departments within Bosch to the development side of things. This department's headquarters is actually out of Farmington Hills, Michigan.  Farmington Hills is a suburb of Detroit, the automotive city.  With development they have to be able to interface with the customer being GM, Ford, or Chrysler.  So with this change we constantly got the question "any chance you will move to Michigan?"  I have always stood firm that it is the last place in the world I would like to live.

Well guess what... Back up to my first point, never say never.  We are moving to Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Good news is that it is temporary 18 months to 2 years. You can do anything that is temporary, right?  We flew to Detroit last week to check out the area and scope out some houses.  I think everyone had told me how dirty and nasty the city is and how awful the winters are.  I believe Kevin ordered up the best weather they have had all winter while we were up there.  Sunshine and 50's.... we won't talk about the foot of snow that was melting from the previous week or the 8 inches they got the day after we left.  We had a good time and enjoyed getting to see the area and potential homes.  It will not be permanent but I think I will be able to call it home for the short time frame.

I am starting this Blog in an attempt to keep everyone updated on what is going on in our lives while we are away.  If I do a good job maybe when we get back it will feel like we never left.   There are still a lot of things that have to happen here in Anderson before we leave but as of right now it looks like we will be gone by the beginning of May.  Keep us in your prayers!

Best of luck to you guys, Jenny! Moving with little ones is difficult and so is adjusting to cold weather, but you can do it! Be prepared for just about everyone you meet to love your southern accent. And give Michigan a chance...you may be surprised :-)

Wow! It does seem to be true what they say about never saying never... But who knows, you may actually like it. Or as you said, like that it's temporary. What an adventure!
