New York

This past weekend we traveled to New York for a family reunion for my Mom's side of the family. Not New York City but a small town in upstate New York, Jamestown. Both my parents were born and raised in Jamestown and in case you care it is also the birth place of Lucille Ball. We arrived late Thursday night so we had a full day on Friday to spend with family. When the kids woke up on Friday and saw that Aunt Jami and Uncle Donnie have a swimming pool, I knew where we would be spending most of our time.

After we took a little dip in the pool we met two of my cousins and their families at a state owned kid amusement park called Midway. Chase and Leah were ready to go as soon as we got there...

We opted to only get a bracelet for Kevin to ride with the kids and I was so thankful in the end because 95% of the rides involved spinning in circles and I was getting nauseous just watching them ride. Chase's favorite ride was the bumper cars...

Chase also got to ride his first "roller coaster" AKA whiplash central...

Leah enjoyed the boats...

but her favorite was the giant slide....

She insisted on doing it over and over again until Kevin finally put his foot down. After a hot and busy afternoon having a blast with our cousins we finally pulled the kids away and headed back to Aunt Jami's where Leah took a little nap and the rest of us took a little dip in the pool. After dinner we headed over to my Grandma Anderson's (my Dad's mom).

All of the "adults" (my dad's generation) came over to spend some time with us. The kids of course quickly became the center of attention. It was so nice to just get to spend some time with everyone, although it is never enough time.

The kids had fun meeting everyone and loved the ice cream sundaes Grandma had for us to enjoy. Just the little bit of time with family makes us long for more time with everyone! More from our adventures in New York to follow.
