Overall Chase is a really good kid. He has a very tender, loving heart. He has a deep concern for others and a desire to do what is right. He is a typical 5 year old when it comes to behavior but nothing that needs major intervention. A friend of his from school however was having some difficulty with behavior so his parents started a bean jar with him. When his jar got filled completely with beans he got to pick what he wanted to do. Chase got to benefit from his reward as his guest at Chuck e Cheese. After that adventure Chase could not stop talking about wanting to do a bean jar. So we finally gave in and created a bean jar. For Chase he receives beans when he preforms acts of kindness, helpfulness, and responsibility. Well, last week his bean jar reached the top.
We thought for sure we were headed to Chuck e Cheese. To our surprise Chase choose to go roller skating for his reward. We picked up a couple of his friends and headed to the roller skating rink.
Crazy kids! This was only the second time Chase had been roller skating and he was determined.
He worked so hard and by the end of the evening he was making it around the rink without falling. Personally I was excited about his choice because I love to roller skate. A little skating selfie with my love ...
After about an hour of skating we took a quick break for some refueling.
Chase had a blast rollerskating and was bummed when we had to leave. After skating we had to stop for a little treat to finish out the evening.
We are very proud of Chase and his choices!

And lucky Leah gets to benefit from the Bean Jar, too. :) I think I'd skip the roller skating and just go straight to the ice cream!
