The McMahan version of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation-part 1

For the last 10 days we have been on "vacation" in Charlotte with lots of good visitation time with Grammie, Papaw, Uncle Ryan, Aunt Steph, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Nick, Aunt Cameron, and Aunt Laura. Having said that I need to give you the timeline of why I refer to it as "vacation", which I will do over the next couple of posts.
December 23rd: We went to the Christmas service at our church in Michigan and then got home loaded up the dogs and kids and started the drive to Charlotte.

December 24th: We did Christmas Eve dinner and presents with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Nick, Aunt Cameron, and Aunt Laura.

I love my parents matching shirts! The kids were very anxious to open presents.

Chase was so excited about his presents he wanted to sleep under them.

Thanks for the neck pillow Uncle Nick and Aunt Cameron! Chase was so cute opening presents, each one he opened he would yell, "this is what I always wanted!".

December 25th: Christmas Day was spent with Grammie, Papaw, Uncle Ryan and Aunt Steph. The kids were super excited and had a ball opening all the presents.

Uncle Ryan and Aunt Steph loved the toys as much as the kids did...

Our version of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation started after the kids opened their presents. The stomach flu decided to rear it's ugly head in our little Leah. Of course it is hard to keep a two year old still and out of the action so Leah helped us catch some butterflies.

December 26th: Leah luckily recovered quickly and was back and running just in time to meet Uncle Nick and Aunt Cameron for lunch.

It was also Uncle Ryan's birthday and we had a good time celebrating. We ended the evening out with some bowling after dinner where Aunt Steph and myself kicked some McMen rears :-).

December 27th: The kids were needing some outside action so Grandpa met us at the park for some fun.

Later that evening we found out that Nick and Cameron's flight had been cancelled so we got to meet them for dinner at Azteca!

December 28th: The morning of the 28th for me and the kids was fun and uneventful. We drove to Gaffney SC to meet Kate, Joey, and Savannah at Chick-fil-a for lunch and some fun.

Now back at the McMahan house the "vacation" drama continued which will be continued in my next post.
