Most of you know by now that we have packed our bags and headed back south. I apologize for the blogging break I have been on but we have been quite busy with goodbyes, traveling, packing, unpacking, and beginning a new chapter of our lives back in Anderson, SC.
Two very short years ago we packed up and moved to Michigan timid of the unknown and in that two years God opened our eyes to his faithfulness and love. We were blessed with so many great friendships and we are so thankful that we had the opportunity to “do life together” with so many awesome people. Saying goodbye was not easy, it was very emotionally draining on all of us but we had so much fun taking the time to spend with so many of our good friends before we departed from Michigan. We got to spend a day with our dear friends the Hansen’s…
Our lifegroup prayed over us and gave us a much needed home depot gift card…
For the kids to say goodbye to their friends we threw a small farewell party at the park and then officially said goodbye on Chase’s last day of school.
Chase and his best buddies…
Go figure the Michigan weather it was 40 degree’s and windy at the end of May. Chase and his teacher, Mrs. Sanford.
Leah enjoyed being a big girl at school with the other big kids, and yes she is a kitty cat. After school was out we loaded the kids and dogs in the car and headed down to Charlotte, NC to drop off the kids and dogs for the week while Kevin and I got things in Michigan settled and on the move to SC. Luckily Kevin’s company was moving us so we didn’t actually have to pack boxes and load a moving truck but we still managed to have a lot of work to do to get things in place for the movers to pack it all up.
You don’t realize how much junk you have until you have to move it all (and then unpack it all)! The movers made quick work of our house and had everything boxed in 1/2 a day and then loaded on a truck in another 1/2 of a day.
It was amazing how fast the movers worked and in the end it was sad to see the place we called home for two years empty. While the kids were gone Kevin and I were able to spend some time with friends in the evenings to say goodbye.
We were able to grab dinner with the Gutknecht’s (pictured above) and on another night some of our other dear friends. The weekend before we were able to head back down to Mexicantown with some good friends for some good food.
Saying goodbye was hard but we had a goodtime doing it. Before we headed out I squeezed in one more hair cut and Kevin made sure he had a nice clean car.
Michigan will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you to all the loving people that made Michigan feel like Home!

I know you're sad to leave your MI friends behind, but we sure are glad to have you back down this way. And cute hair! :)
