Moving part 2- The Great Load Up

So once everything was boxed up that could be boxed it was time for the truck to arrive that was going to be carrying all of our stuff to Michigan.  We sent Chase on the "look out" mission for the big truck and when it arrive he began jumping up and down screaming "they are here!" and trying to wave the truck to come down our driveway.

Chase's car getting ready for its ride
Our truck driver, Mark, had a riding companion of his own....
Meet Max. After a few hello kisses, Chase got to check out the inside of the truck cab.
After checking out the truck the kids and I loaded up in the van to head to Charlotte so we were not in the way of all the commotion going on in the house.
It was pretty sad pulling away for the last time knowing that even though we will return to Anderson, we will never return to that house or neighbors.  Shortly after we left the flat bed truck arrived that was to load up the Thunderbird. The Thunderbird would be going in the moving truck with the household goods but had to be taken to a docking area to be loaded.
Of course nothing is as easy as it sounds or seems.  The Thunderbird could not just drive onto the flat bed because it would scrap so they had to figure out an alternative way...

That alternative way involved backing the truck up to an embankment in an empty lot across from our house and driving the Thunderbird through the lot and up onto the flatbed.  All I can say is... Glad I wasn't there for all of that :).
Finally on the trailor, the Thunderbird was off to wait on the truck. The rest of the day was filled with inventory and loading.
Then finially our house was empty...

Bitter-sweet pictures. We will miss this house and everything it has meant to us over the years. All the first memories that it holds, but we are excited about all that God has in store for us in the years to come. Well with all our stuff gone and the house empty Kevin slept on an air mattress that night and cleaned for the new owners and then joined us in Charlotte. Kevin and I would be taking the next step of the adventure on 5/1 we will leave with the truck and boat for Michigan to search for housing while the kids stay in Charlotte with their Grandparents. Moving Part 3- The solo parent adventure for housing.... coming soon.
