Birthday Surprises!

Well turing 30 is not so bad when you have a husband who does everything humanly possible to make sure it is a memorable celebration and not a pity party with "father time". Last Tuesday (4/17/12) the anticipation began with me getting Chase out of bed that morning. As soon as I entered his room he began rambling about "whats for dinner" and "looking at the calendar". I was highly confused until we made it down stairs and Chase stopped directly in front of the refrigerator where I keep my meal calendar and simply stated, "mommy what's for dinner?" He proceeded to get mad when I said, "I don't know Chase" because he was looking forward to know what the days surprise was as well. Luckily from his earlier rambles I understood enough that I was supposed to check the calendar. The calendar simply stated, "Daddy's surprise" (Kevin's way of saying don't worry about cooking dinner tonight). So evening came and we all piled in the car and arrived at...

Now I am starting to get a little confused because this is where we had talked about taking the kids on Friday for my birthday dinner. Yummy burgers and kid friendly environment. As I started to raise questions Kevin mumbled something about it all making sense later so of course my mind began to wander through possibilities. Will there be a surprise party on Friday and he didn't want me to miss my dinner out, will there be people waiting at the house when we get home, what is going on? I assure you the nagging questions didn't cause me to miss a yummy BBQ burger and fries....

See the sauce on my finger, that's how you know it is yummy....

Dinner came to an end and still no revelations as to why my birthday dinner was coming so early. We arrived home and still no idea what is going on. Kevin had me close my eyes and some goodies arrived...

Call the fire department I think we about burned the house down with that one....

Dairy Queen ice cream cake.... YUM YUM!

Then the final surprises came. A nicely wrapped envelope complete with some money and travel itinerary's for myself and four fantastic friends that would be joining me in Madeira Beach Florida. We would be leaving that Thursday the19th and not returning until late Monday night the 23rd. Wow! I was blown away that Kevin had gone to so much trouble planning such an amazing getaway and that so many people were willing to take time out to spend my birthday weekend with me. For someone who loves quality time, Kevin could not have come up with a more special gift to spend quality time with so many wonderful friends. Well this is the story of how the surprise was revealed to me, more surprises and Florida to come in following posts.

Sounds like chase and Kevin did a great job of teamwork to pull it all off! Grammie
